I recently shot a scene for the upcoming mini series Blackout directed by Bradford May and starring Sean Patrick Flanery, Anne Heche, and James Brolin! I started out in hair and make-up where the wonderful women on the “Blackout” crew told me everyone was very excited to finally have more girls to work with on the male-heavy set (she also told us who would probably hit on us, haha). This was my first time meeting director Bradford May and I am happy to say that he is a complete pleasure to work with. I was also excited when I found out that producer Jim Wilberger, a very lovely man whom I met at a screening of my film “Beautiful Dreamer,” would be hanging out on set as well – we had a nice time catching up with each other around 3am.
I played one of the girlfriends of a drug lord in Colombia and we shot at an AMAZING house in Simi Valley. The shoot went from 4pm to 5am (yes, I was driving home while the sun was rising) but the people on the project were so much fun that, along with the help of excessive amounts of caffeine, I almost forgot how deliriously tired I was. My scene takes place at the very top of the show and is the starting point for all of the action. We got some arial shots from a helicopter as well as close ups and sniper-vision shots so everything should turn out to look VERY cool.
Yes it was cold filming late at night in a small strapless dress with helicopter wind blowing on me but luckily I had a fluffy robe to keep me warm when the cameras were off as well as a lot of laughs with the other girls on set. I’m not sure when the project will air but I’ll keep you posted!
